Update from Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano on fire at 149 North Broadway.
Several families were displaced after last night’s fire at 149 North Broadway. Thanks to the nearly 60 IAFF Local 628 Yonkers Firefighters, everyone was able to safely evacuate. The Yonkers Police Department, Office of Constituent Services, the Yonkers Office of Emergency Management and the American Red Cross in Greater New York have been instrumental in providing the necessary resources for the families impacted by this fire. Thank you to the Yonkers Nodine Community Center for opening their doors to the community and providing temporary shelter during these trying times.
