PRESIDENT TRUMP CONSIDERS ILLEGAL EXECUTIVE ORDER TO ADD CITIZENSHIP QUESTION TO THE CENSUS.
NEW YORK – Attorney General Letitia James today released the following statement following news reports that President Trump is considering an illegal executive order to add a citizenship question to the 2020 decennial census:
“We will not sit idly by and allow the President to subvert the law. As we celebrate Independence Day, all of us, including the President, should be reminded that we live in a democracy, not a dictatorship, and must follow the law, even if we disagree with it. We will continue to move forward and make sure everyone is counted in the 2020 census.”
