BUILDINGS & CONSTRUCTION TRADES COUNCIL OF WESTCHESTER.
YONKERS N.Y. Candidate London Reyes for Westchester County Legislator District 17 received an endorsement from the Westchester/Putnam Building Trades Political Action Committee.
The Buildings and Construction Trades Council is affiliated with the AFL-CIO and currently represents thousands of unionized construction workers in Westchester and Putnam County. This union represents the trades that build our roads, bridges, schools, and buildings. They believe that every worker deserves a fair wage and safe working conditions.
This endorsement acknowledges London Reyes, who has consistently advocated for the issues affecting organized labor and improving the lives of working people and families alike. Reyes is a democratic leader who believes that giving developers huge tax breaks facilitates the cutting of services, not employing local residents, and not paying prevailing wages to workers. The loss of tax revenue hurts the city of Yonkers and the County of Westchester. London Reyes stated, “ It was an honor to be endorsed by such an influential union that upholds the principles and values which aim to improve the lives of families and communities. When I’m elected, I will fight for workers rights and put the needs of the community before politics.”
Primary Elections are Tuesday, June 25th, 2019.
