SENATOR SHELLEY MAYER ANNOUNCES NEW FUNDING FOR PACE WOMEN’S JUSTICE CENTER’S DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS’ LEGAL SERVICES.

White Plains, NY -- On Monday, July 22nd, State Senator Shelley Mayer and Cindy Kanusher, Executive Director of Pace Women's Justice Center (PWJC), along with PWJC’s staff will gather at Pace Women’s Justice Center offices to announce $24,000 in new funding Senator Mayer secured for additional legal services for victims and survivors of domestic violence. The funding will support a part-time attorney to provide direct, civil legal services for victims of domestic violence in PWJC’s Family Law Unit. As part of this Unit, the part time attorney will represent clients on a range of legal issues including protection orders, custody and visitation, child and spousal support, and contested matrimonial cases. The PWJC provides free legal services to more than 3,000 victims and survivors of domestic violence in Westchester and Putnam Counties annually, helping clients navigate the legal system during a frightening and potentially dangerous time in their lives. Senator Mayer and PWJC Executive Director and staff will discuss the details of the funding and answer any questions from the press.
