YONKERS, NY -- On Wednesday, July 17th, State Senator Shelley Mayer, Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano, officials from the NYS Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), and other elected officials representing the City of Yonkers will gather at Andrus Park to celebrate the repaving of Central Avenue in Yonkers. In 2017, Senator Mayer, then Assemblymember, secured $1 million to repave a section of Central Avenue beginning just north of the NYS Thruway overpass northward to Stokes Road. Work on the Central Avenue Repaving Project began on June 3rd and is scheduled to be completed by mid-August. Officials will discuss the details of the project and answer any questions from the press. Opportunity for photos to follow.

About State Senator Shelley B. Mayer
Senator Mayer was elected to the New York State Senate to represent the 37th District in an April 2018 Special Election, and she was subsequently re-elected in November 2018. The 37th State Senate District includes the Cities of Yonkers, White Plains, Rye and New Rochelle; the Towns of Bedford, Eastchester, Harrison, North Castle, Mamaroneck, and Rye; the Villages of Bronxville, Larchmont, Harrison, Mamaroneck, Port Chester, Rye Brook, and Tuckahoe; and the unincorporated places of Katonah, Bedford Hills, and Armonk.
