Class of 2019 Shatters Every Scholarship Record 

The Class of 2019 opened the month with a staggering $121,694,432 in scholarships, grants, and incentives. Yes, they've earned more than $121 million, with just about six weeks to go. With their aspiration for post-secondary study, the young men and women who are the Yonkers Public Schools Class of 2019 have proved themselves to be the young adults colleges and universities want in the Class of 2023. Stay tuned!

Yonkers High School Among Best in NY and Magnets Nationwide

Yonkers High School is once again among the best in New York State and Magnet Schools nationwide, according to the just released 2019 US News ranking of America's best high schools. Ranked 47th in New York State, it is 91st among magnet high schools nationwide, and performs in the top 75% of all high schools in the United States. Congratulations!

Dr. Don Solimene Honored With Leadership in Education Award 

Why are these two principals smiling? Dr. Don Solimene (left), principal of Riverside High School, has just been named this year's recipient of the Leadership in Education Award, while Mr. Ian Sherman, principal of Lincoln High School, is wrapping up his year as the honoree. Two incredible leaders devoted to their students' success! Dr. Solimene will officially become the Administrator of the Year, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the Yonkers Board of Education Stated Meeting

Yonkers High School Student Wins State MBK Scholarship

Two of Yonkers Public Schools promising MBK leaders made us proud this week --  David Armah of Saunders Trades & Technical High School and #NYSMBK fellow De'Andre Brown, president of the #Yonkers MBK Youth Advisory Council. De'Andre was selected as a recipient of the first ever New York State Board of Regents Vice Chancellor Emerita Adelaide L. Sanford Scholarship at the Regents meeting this week.  Read the essay that earned De'Andre the scholarship.
