News from London Reyes, Democrat for Westchester County Legislator in the 17th District.
The Westchester County Board of Elections officially informed community activist, London Reyes, that his name will appear on the ballot for the Democratic Party line for Westchester County Legislator vying to represent District 17.
London Reyes wanted to thank close to 1,200 voters who signed his petition to get on the ballot. “It was an amazing experience to see so many people energized about the democratic process,” stated Reyes. The candidate for Westchester County Legislator District 17 submitted over three times the amount of signatures. His opponent, in a long shot attempt, challenged his signatures, but the Westchester County Board of Elections ruled in favor of Reyes and he is officially on the ballot.
With the official letter in hand, London Reyes’ name will appear on the ballot in the Democratic Primary Election, which is only one month away. Reyes stated that he will continue to expand on the relationships that he’s been building with the people in the community for the last 16 years. “They need to know that when I’m in office, I will give them a seat at the table. So, it’s important for everyone to come out and vote, let your voices be heard on Tuesday, June 25th for change. We deserve better, more importantly, you deserve better.”
