Science Barge Opening was a success!

Thank you for helping us celebrate the 2019 Science Barge Opening! What a wonderful and magical day to celebrate the Science Barge Opening and to honor Captain Bob Walters for his distinguished career with Groundwork Hudson Valley! Thank you to Master of the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano along with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (represented by Lisa Hofflich, the Hudson Valley Regional Director), Congressman Eliot Engel, NY State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Majority Whip and Westchester County Legislator MaryJane Shimsky, Yonkers City Council President Mike Khader, City Councilman and Majority Leader Michael Sabatino, and City Councilmen Anthony Merante and John Rubbo, and Councilwoman Shanae Williams. Additional thanks to the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation and Fran Dunwell, the NY State DEC Hudson River Estuary Coordinator, for coming to speak and see how your generous grant enabled us to repair and upgrade the Barge.Thanks to Chuck Lesnick, former Yonkers City Council President representing Governor Cuomo, for joining us as well.
