LOCAL OFFICIALS TO ANNOUNCE SEARCH FOR HOTTEST NEW FOOD IN WESTCHESTER

WHAT’S WESTCHESTER’S ANSWER TO CONEY ISLAND’S FAMOUS HOT DOGS, BUFFALO’S WINGS, CHICAGO’S DEEP
DISH PIZZA, OR PHILADELPHIA’S CHEESESTEAKS?

Yonkers NY (May 7, 2019) –Westchester County Executive George Latimer and Stew Leonard, Jr. will be joined by Westchester Economic Development
Officials and local “foodies” to announce “Stews Tank,” a contest searching for Westchester’s hottest new food product, onTuesday, May 7th, 2019 at 2:30PM at at 1 Stew Leonard Drive, Yonkers, NY
The search and contest will bring local chefs and restaurants, and businesses, to unveil their famous dishes with the hope that they land on the shelves of Stew Leonard’s food stores. Winners hope to establish the next iconic food for Westchester, like
City of Philadelphia Cheesesteak, or hot dogs from Coney Island, Brooklyn.

The winning product will be showcased in front of over 50,000 shoppers,  throughout the tri-State region, including on Long Island,
in New Jersey, Westchester, and Connecticut.Many famous household products received their start at Stew Leonard's, such as Rao's marinara sauce, Paul Newman's salad dressing
and Martha Stewart got her start there. Many Westchester food and beverage products are sold at Stew Leonard’s supermarkets.
