Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Labor Day is the day we celebrate and recognize the contributions and spirit of our workers across this City and across this great nation.
I want to especially commend our City of Yonkers employees, who do every job to keep Yonkers strong and moving forward. From public safety to maintaining parks, garbage collection, road work, finances, administration, or customer service, I know our employees are incredibly dedicated.
Each of them possesses a remarkable skill or talent that collectively allows our City to continuously make a difference and improve the quality of life of our residents every day. We appreciate all you do!
As we look forward to a prosperous fall and school year for our students, we will also continue to pay tribute to those lost on 9/11. This year, we will reflect 23 years after the nation's darkest day, and I encourage you to join us as we remember on Wednesday, September 11 at Water Grant Street at 8:30 a.m. or Conor Park at 7:00 p.m.
Enjoy the long weekend, be well, and stay safe.
MIKE SPANO
Mayor
