Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Today we pay tribute to the lives lost 23 years ago, through prayer and service. Volunteers here at home and around the country are mobilizing to strengthen their communities. You can find a volunteer opportunity in Westchester County through Volunteer New York! - https://www.volunteernewyork.org/service
Many of us who lived through that day in 2001 will remember the clear, blue sky on Tuesday morning. It was a day that forever changed our nation, our beloved New York, and all of us.
But it was also a day when humanity showed its strength, courage, and generosity. We worked together to reaffirm who we are and remembered the ultimate sacrifice of our local heroes and fellow Americans.
I invite you to join me today at the two ceremonies hosted by the City of Yonkers.
The first ceremony will be held at the 9/11 Memorial at Water Grant Street on the Yonkers Waterfront, starting at 8:30 a.m.
The second ceremony will be held at Conor Park on McLean Avenue and Central Park Avenue, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
May God bless you and your families, and may God bless the United States of America.
MIKE SPANO
Mayor
