Yonkers Insider: Statement from Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano: Happy Fourth of July.








Dear Friends and Neighbors,


I truly believe Yonkers is a shining example of the American dream. We serve our country, we work hard and we are a compassionate and caring community.


Our efforts during World War II recently earned us a prestigious designation as an American World War II Heritage City. Yonkers is the only City in New York State to be given this distinguished status.


This Fourth of July, let's use this day to remember the freedoms we enjoy, the opportunities afforded to us, and the belief we all can chase our dreams and reach for the stars.


I hope you'll join us at the Yonkers waterfront this evening to celebrate America's 248th Birthday! The festivities on the pier begin at 7 PM, and the fireworks start at 9 PM. 


I wish you and your family a happy and safe Independence Day.
