Yonkers Insider: Statement from New York State Assemblyman Nader Sayegh 90th District.

Friends,

Right here at Cross County Shopping Center in Yonkers, New York, I joined Mayor Mike Spano and Councilman John Rubbo for the Grand Opening of a fantastic new Yonkers Brewery business. Excited to see how this new addition contributes to our city's dynamic growth!

Additionally, I visited New York Mets’ Citi Field with Assemblywoman Tapia from NYC and Robert Mercedes, Head of Educators for Student Success.

I also had the joy of celebrating my daughter Teresa's birthday at a Mets game this week.

Moreover, my office attended the Queens Yoga Festival where we were proudly represented by my dedicated staff member for Constituent Services and Yoga & Wellness Specialist, Chandra Sookdeo. Special thank you to Guruji Dileepkumar Thankappan for leading an inspiring Yoga Asana class. It was a wonderful opportunity to promote health and well-being within our community.

Recently, I was a sponsor of an event for The Youth & Senior Empowerment Foundation. Congratulations to its founder, Millie Gutiérrez and her staff and volunteers and we thank them for the support they provide to our community!

Furthermore, I attended the churching of my grandson, Christian, accompanied by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Joseph and Lana Nshiewat. It was a joyous occasion filled with love and cherished family traditions.

Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable 4th of July weekend!

I again call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza! I urge all involved parties to engage in negotiations for a lasting peace agreement, which includes the release of all hostages and prisoners. Additionally, it is imperative that the international community promptly addresses the hunger and starvation affecting the population in Gaza. From the start of this conflict, nearly 40,000 have died, 80,000 are injured, and 1.5 million Palestinians have been displaced from their home.
