Press Release: For Immediate Release: Alessandro Crocco Announces Candidacy for New York Assembly, District 92.
(White Plains) Alessandro Crocco announced his candidacy for the New York Assembly, representing District 92 on Wednesday, May 30th during his kick-off event at La Bocca Italian Restaurant. Crocco's kick-off event was attended by over 60 residents from the Towns of Greenburgh, Mount Pleasant, and City of Yonkers. With a strong background in public service, Crocco aims to bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to the legislative body, while working across the aisle with Democratic colleagues to pass these solutions.
The event started with an invocation by Monsignor Franco, advisor at the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations. The event was attended by dozens of dignitaries including: Westchester Republican Chairman Doug Colety, Westchester Conservative Vice Chairman Pat Lagano, Yonkers Republican Chairman Robert Moffitt, Greenburgh Republican Chairman Tim Hays, Mount Pleasant Republican Chairwoman Helen Keating, and NYSYR Hudson Valley Regional Vice Chairman Brandon Neider.
Alessandro Crocco said "Fifteen years ago, I came to the United States from Italy. After graduating from college, I started a business in New York. My wife and I chose to live in Hartsdale because it’s a good place to raise our daughter. My journey began as a representative in the U.S. for Italians abroad. I’m driven by a commitment to serving our community. I want to bring my business experience and dedication to Albany as your Assembly Member. Soaring taxes and economic stagnation are the biggest issues we face in the lower Hudson Valley. As you may be aware, Westchester has the highest property taxes in the United States. I will fight for a comprehensive review and reform of New York’s tax system so that we alleviate the burden on families and stimulate small business growth. I’m honored to announce that I’m running as your assemblyman in the 92nd district including Greenburgh, Mt. Pleasant and West Yonkers.
For me this is more than a campaign—it is a path. A path to restore faith in our government, to reclaim the promise of prosperity, and to affirm the rights granted to us by our constitution. I ask you not only for your vote but for your active support as we strive to bring about real change!"
During the kickoff event, Crocco was endorsed by Westchester County Legislator James Nolan. Nolan said "I am happy to endorse my friend Alessandro Crocco for New York State Assembly, District 92. Alessandro has made issues like supporting labor and keeping zoning local vital to his campaign.
As the County Legislator for the Yonkers portion of District 92, I know that we need someone who will work across the aisle to help pass important legislation that improves residents' lives. As a millennial like myself, he knows that Albany has worked to make New York unaffordable for our generation and it will take a lot of work and risks to save this State. I ask that you cast your vote for Alessandro in November. We need Alessandro fighting in Albany!”
Alessandro has pledged to make these issues the cornerstone of his campaign:
Support Law Enforcement: Ensure that our law enforcement agencies receive the resources they need to address modern challenges while fostering trust and collaboration within the communities they serve.
Maintain Local Zoning: Advocate local control over zoning laws to safeguard our neighborhoods from overdevelopment and preserve their unique character.
Create Jobs: Attract high-tech and green energy firms to our communities, with the express goal of creating opportunities for well-paying jobs while promoting sustainable practices.
Enhance Education: Support overhauling the curriculum to provide an education meeting the needs of students while increasing parental involvement in school governance.
Support Community Programs: Develop outreach programs for crime prevention, and drug rehabilitation without coddling, providing engaging activities that empower our residents.
Fair Union Agreements: Advocate to secure fair wages, benefits, and safe working conditions.
Promote Fair Immigration Policies: Promote a balanced immigration system that welcomes skilled immigrants, respects legal processes, and prioritizes border security.
Oppose Edgemont Secession: Protect taxpayers by opposing the Edgemont secession effort. That will lead to higher property taxes for homeowners in most of Greenburgh.
You can vote for Alessandro on the Republican or Conservative line on November 5, 2024.
