On April 8, 2024, New York experienced a total solar eclipse. During this event, the moon passed directly between the Earth and the sun, obscuring the sun's light and casting a shadow on the city. Observers, including myself, witnessed the sun's corona, or outer atmosphere, glowing around the edges of the moon. Day turned to night for a brief period, and it was a glorious reminder of the beauty and wonder of the universe.
