On Friday, May 26, 2023, the Yonkers City Council held a Special City Council Meeting. All items on the agenda appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items.

Special City Council Meeting



1. Local Law – amending Article IX of the Charter of the City of Yonkers in Relation to Sewer Rents. (Adopted 7-0)


2. General Ordinance – amending Chapter 95 of the Code of the City of Yonkers in Relation to Water Rents. (Adopted 7-0)


3. Special Ordinance – approving Justification Documents of the City Comptroller in relation to FY 2023-24 Budget. (Adopted 7-0)


4. Special Ordinance – authorizing a Bond Ordinance in an amount not to exceed $15,000,000 to finance tax certiorari (Adopted 7-0)


5. Special Ordinance – adopting the Tax Budget for Fiscal Year commencing July 1, 2023 and terminating June 30, 2024. (Adopted 4-3, with Councilmember Corazon Pineda-Isaac, Councilmember Anthony Merante and Minority Leader Mike Breen voting no)


6. Special Ordinance – confirming the Tax Roll for Fiscal Year 2023/2024 and levying and addressing the taxes contained therein. (Adopted 4-3, with Councilmember Corazon Pineda-Isaac, Councilmember Anthony Merante and Minority Leader Mike Breen voting no)


7. Special Ordinance – adopting the Capital Budget for Fiscal Year 2023/2024 (Adopted 7-0)


8. Special Ordinance – adopting the Grant Budget for Fiscal Year 2023/2024 (Adopted 7-0)


9. Special Ordinance – authorizing Revenue Anticipation Note in an amount not to exceed $140,000,000 for FY 2023/2024 (Adopted 7-0)


10. Special Ordinance – authorizing Tax Anticipation Note in an amount not to exceed $150,000,000 for FY 2023/2024 (Adopted 7-0)


11.Special Ordinance - adopting the salary schedule for FY 2023/2024. (Adopted 7-0)


12.Resolution calling upon the Inspector General of the City of Yonkers to conduct a comprehensive audit of the City's Affordable Housing Program and the eligibility and representation made by program participants. (Adopted 6-1, with Councilmember Merante voting no)
