On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, the Yonkers City Council held a Real Estate Committee meeting and a Rules Committee meeting. All items on both agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items.

Real Estate Committee Meeting Agenda

1.Local Law - Repealing and Replacing Article XV of Chapter 43 entitled "Affordable Housing" for the City of Yonkers (Held in Committee for further discussion)

2. Resolution to declare the Yonkers City Council Lead Agency under SEQRA for the petition of Sarah Lawrence College for an amendment of the zoning map to change current zone classifications to the “CU” college and university zone classifications for the premises known as 1229 Midland Avenue (currently “MG”), a portion of 879 Kimball Avenue (currently “S-60”) and 161 Hampshire Road (currently “S-200”), Yonkers, New York and known and designated on the tax assessment map of the City of Yonkers as Block 5363, Lot 20, Block 5363, Part of Lot 1 and Block 5349, Lot 29. (Moved to Rules Committee meeting agenda of March 21, 2023)

Resolution by the City Council of Yonkers acknowledging and denouncing the continuing illegal operation of cannabis dispensaries in the City of Yonkers and throughout the State and calling for immediate changes to the “Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act” to give local municipalities discretion and authority to regulate and control the dispensaries to protect the health safety and welfare of the public and especially the children of the City of Yonkers. (Moved to Municipal Operations & Public Safety Committee for further discussion)
