Assemblyman Sayegh meeting with My Brothers Keeper Students from Lincoln High School..

Gerald Newbeth from he Academy of Art at Lincoln High School shared additional photos and wrote to express his and the students from My Brothers Keeper appreciation for their meeting with the Assemblyman at the State Capitol. "Thank you for taking time out of your out of your busy schedule to talk to the Lincoln High School chapter of My Brother's Keepers to explain to the student Yonkers Public School are funded. Both the students and I enjoyed our visit." Assemblyman Sayegh, as member of the Assembly Standing Committee on Education and Chair of the Subcommittee on Students with Special Needs, has introduced legislation impacting public school funding, policies, and initiatives. These include including legislation to support programs that encourage high school students interested in teaching, to pursue the profession and return to their home districts. Studies have demonstrated that students who are educated by teachers who have commonality in their backgrounds are more likely to have better educational outcomes than those who don't.
