Yonkers Insider: Yonkers City Councilwoman Corazon Pineda Issac 2nd District: Las Hermanas Mirabal Community School.

 


On October 13th, I attended the renaming ceremony of School 13 to Las Hermanas Mirabal Community School. This is particularly heartwarming to me as a woman of Dominican descent, to see female national heros in the Dominican Republic who stood up for what they believed in now being recognized in Yonkers as symbols of women’s rights and human rights.
