Yesterday evening, September 28, 2022, the Yonkers City Council held several committee meetings before the regularly scheduled Stated City Council meeting. All items on the agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items.
Community Services & Mental Health Committee meeting 

1. Resolution approving lease amendment and the sub-leasing of 127 North Broadway by the Police Athletic League to the S.I.C Film School. (No Fiscal Impact.) - Kept in committee for further discussion



Legislation & Codes Committee Meeting

1. Local law adopting written procedures governing the use of videoconferencing by the members of a public body of the City of Yonkers. Kept in committee for further discussion
 
2.Local law to permit the use of videoconferencing by a public body of the City of Yonkers. Kept in committee for further discussion
 
3.Local law amending Section 96-2 of Article 1 of Chapter 96 Part VII of the Charter of the City of Yonkers in relation to the restoration of street surfaces after excavation. Kept in committee for further discussion
 
4.Local law amending Section 103-33 of Article IV of Chapter 103 Part VIII of the Charter of the City of Yonkers in relation to cutting and restoring pavement. Kept in committee for further discussion



Real Estate Committee Meeting

1.     A resolution to declare the City Council’s intention to seek lead agency under SEQRA for the petition of Uno, LLC for an amendment of the zoning map for the premises known as 21 Scarsdale Road and more particularly described as section 4, block 4544, lot 1 to change the current “I” industrial zone classification to the “A” apartments and other uses zone classification to allow the construction of two residential apartment buildings with a total of 150 units and to refer the petition to the Westchester County and Yonkers Planning Boards pursuant to the general municipal law and the Yonkers City Code. - Moved to Stated City Council Agenda of September 28, 2022

1.     Local Law amending Section 56-61 of Article VII of the Charter of the City of Yonkers entitled “Notice to demolish; permit” - Kept in committee for further discussion
 
2.     General Ordinance in relation to a citywide temporary moratorium on the issuance of licenses for the retail sale of e-cigarettes and tetrahydocannabinol based products and on approval of any business permitting vaping or use of tetrahydocannabinol based products on its premises pending appropriate review. - Kept in committee for further discussion
 
3.   General Ordinance amending Chapter 109 of the City Code of the City of Yonkers entitled “Vehicles and Traffic” with regard to commercial vehicles - Moved to Stated City Council Agenda of September 28, 2022
 
4.  General Ordinance amending Chapter 91 of the Code of the City of Yonkers also known as “Garbage and Refuse” in regard to garbage receptacles (*item to be discussed jointly with Environmental Policy & Protection Committee) - Kept in committee for further discussion

1. Special ordinance authorizing acceptance of state grant funding from NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) in the amount of $262,000 and amending the COY grant budget for FY2022/2023 - Adopted 7-0
