Yonkers Insider: Statement from Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano.

 


Dear friend,
 
Today I appointed Deputy Chief Chris Sapienza as the new Yonkers Police Commissioner. He is set to lead the over 600 men and women in the Department.


I have no doubt in Chris's ability to cultivate relationships with the community and our officers to ensure they can all be the best versions of themselves. He's been a shining star in the Department for years and epitomizes the meaning of true leadership.

I look forward to working with him to further the progress we have made thus far, fostering stronger community relationships and continuing to keep Yonkers safe.


I want to thank former Police Commissioner John Mueller for his service to this city and commitment to making Yonkers one of the safest cities of its size.
