We do an Election Piece on the Race for New York State Assembly 92nd District Democratic Party Primary in 2022 Elections. The Democratic Party Primary Between New York State Assemblyman Thomas Abinanti and Westchester County Legislature Majority Leader MaryJane Shimsky of the 12th District I feel will be one of the Most Watched Primaries that I will be covering in Primary 2022 in my View.
Assemblyman Abinanti has been an Assemblyman, SInce his Victory in November of 20210.The 92nd Assembly District Consists of Most of Greenburgh, Mount Pleasant and A Small Portion of Northwest Yonkers.
Before being Elected to the New York State Assembly, Abinanti was a Westchester County Legislator in the 12th District for Many Years. Tom Served as Majority Leader on the Westchester County Board of Legislators 3 Times.
He also served on Various Other County Board Committees as well, during his time as A Westchester County Legisator Representing the 12th District. Abinanti also Served 2 terms as a Greenburgh Town Councilman in his Past Elected Official Experience as well.
Mary Jane Shimsky is serving in her 6th Term on the Westchester County Board of Legislators in the 12th Legislative District - The District that She Represents has Most of the Town of Greenburgh, (Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings, Irvington, Edgemont and Most of Hartsdale). From 2007-2010 Shew served as Community Relations Director for State Assemblyman Richard Brodsky in the 92nd District., that's the Seat that She is running for in this Democratic Party Primary.
One of Mary Jane's Issues that she has worked on as a Westchester County Legislature is on the Issue of Infrastructure in terms of Public Health and Our Environment She is Chair on the Committee on Public Works and Transportation on the Westchester County Board of Legislators.
She also serves on the Following Committees on the Board of Legislators as well: Budget & Appropriations, Health, Law and Major Contracts, Legislation & Park and Recreation.
She Served as the Westchester County Board of Legislature's Majority Leader during the 2020-21 Term for the Board Democratic Caucus. Shimsky also served as the County Board's Majority Whip twice on the County Board, during the 2018-19 and 2012-13 Terms.
