Yonkers Insider: Statement from Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano.

 Dear Friend,

Over a year ago, you might recall that I asked for your help in ensuring Yonkers was counted on the national stage.

Well, I write to you today, letting you know that we achieved our goal. During a global pandemic, we made sure to get the message out that every voice counts. Because of your willingness to participate in the 2020 Census and community organizing efforts, we claimed the title as New York's third-largest city.

Yonkers outpaced every other big city in the State, including New York City growing at an 8% rate.

This historic feat. comes on the heels of the progress we have made – becoming one of the safest cities of our size, attracting world-class developers, and investing record amounts in our Yonkers Schools. Over the years, Yonkers has become the destination for people to live, work, and raise a family.

I couldn't be prouder to be Mayor of New York's third-largest city, and I thank you for the role you played.
