IF YOU LOVE HISTORY JOIN THE GREENBURGH HISTORIC AND LANDMARKS PRESERVATION BOARD.
The Historic and Landmarks Preservation Board (H&LPB) whose mission statement is "preserve the history of Greenburgh through landmarking, pictures, and the written word," was created in 2003. This Board presently has two openings - one for a landscape architect, and, a second for a person with a preservation background who works in the field of history. The position includes among other things attendance at meetings, site visits and 4 hours a year of state-conducted seminars, webinars ,et al.
Applicants must live in incorporated Greenburgh, submit a resume and attend two H&LPB meetings. The Historic Board meets the second Tuesday of each month from 7:00 to 8:45 PM in the History Room of the Greenburgh Library. Official appointment is by the Town Board.
