Greenburgh Insider: 45 units of workforce housing at Dromore to be discussed at 7 PM Tuesday July 6.

The Greenburgh Town Board will hear a presentation from Bill Balter on Tuesday, July 6th at 7 PM at Greenburgh Town Hall. Mr. Balter, of Wilder Balter, will discuss their plans to build 45 affordable workforce housing on Dromore Road, near the Greenburgh Nature Center.

This meeting will be held  live - at Town Hall.  And  will be open to the public. The Town Board passed a resolution last week requiring attendees to wear masks inside our auditorium and in public places around Town Hall. Only those who wear masks will be allowed to attend the meeting at Town Hall. The meeting will also be aired on public access TV and on the town website: www.greenburghny.com.

The developer will discuss the details of their development  which received approvals from the town five years ago and provide us with a timetable for construction. They are also seeking a PILOT tax payment similar to other workforce/affordable housing developments approved by the town.  There will be one and two bedroom apartments and they will be affordable to those with household incomes of between approximately $40,000 and $90,000. This is workforce housing--those who move in are working people.  Wilder Balter is currently finalizing financing of the development and believe that construction will start next year - and take about 18 months to complete.

Wilder Balter is a respected developer of affordable housing with a very good track record.
