Lakisha Collins-Bellamy proudly accepts endorsement of the Hispanic Democrats of Westchester

Lakisha Collins-Bellamy is proud to be endorsed by the Hispanic Democrats of Westchester in the election for Yonkers City Council President.

In a city as diverse and rich in culture and history as Yonkers is, our Hispanic neighbors play a large part in contributing to Yonkers’ identity. Yonkers is comprised of a 37% Hispanic population, and it is vital to acknowledge and appreciate how important this community is to the City of Yonkers. In her bid to become the first woman of color to be elected Yonkers City Council President, Lakisha’s priority is ensuring that Yonkers is a city for ALL, including our Hispanic friends and neighbors. Robin Bikall, President of the Westchester Hispanic Democrats, says, “We were convinced that Lakisha is the best candidate for this important elective office. Yonkers faces many challenges and under Lakisha’s leadership, we are confident that equity, efficiency and inclusion will always be a central part of her platform.”

Lakisha is an advocate for diversity in municipal hiring, improved education for Yonkers’ students, affordable housing, and public safety that brings back trust within the community. With an endorsement from the Hispanic Democrats of Westchester, Lakisha is excited to help create a city government in which all voices are heard, respected, and appreciated.
