Directive Part of County COVID-19 Commemoration.
(White Plains, NY) – On Wednesday, March 3, Westchester County Executive George Latimer is directing flags at all County facilities to be flown at half-staff in honor of the over 2,000 Westchester residents who have died from coronavirus.
The flags will be flown at half-staff as a part the County’s COVID-19 commemoration event taking place one year after the first confirmed case in Westchester.
Latimer said: “Westchester has suffered great losses and we must honor them in each way that we can. Flying our flags at half-staff is a message to all of us that we will not forget the tragedy that this virus has caused. Each death is a person, not just merely a point on a chart.”
