From The Desk Of Yonkers Newswire Publisher Brian Harrod.... LOL... Yorktown Councilwoman Alice Roker Calls Developers' Proposal "Yonkers North" TAP INTO: Four-Story Building Replacing Kmart Would be Among Yorktown's Tallest YORKTOWN, N.Y. – A new mixed-used building with 150 rental units is being proposed for Yorktown Heights—emphasis on the Heights. At 52 feet, the building slated to replace Kmart would be among the tallest buildings in town, if the plan to reinvigorate the mostly vacant Yorktown Green Shopping Center comes together as envisioned. The 216,000-square-foot building—with 6,000 square feet of retail space beneath three stories of one- and two-bedroom units—would have roughly the same footprint as Kmart but would more than double in height. The Kmart building is 22 feet tall while the new apartment building would be 57 feet tall at the apex of its sloped roof (town code measures building height to the middle of a roof, so 52 feet is the official height)..... https://www.facebook.com/groups/YonkersNewswire/permalink/2911418065782419/
