YONKERS POLICE DEPARTMENT: Tainted cocaine suspected in Yonkers overdose incidents YONKERS: The Yonkers Police Department is investigating three apparent overdose incidents in the City today that may be connected to the same source of fentanyl laced cocaine. All three incidents resulted in six victims being taken to local hospitals – one victim has died; another is in grave condition. Yonkers Police Detectives believe that all the victims may have ingested fentanyl laced cocaine from a tainted batch. The Yonkers Police Major Case Squad and Narcotics Unit, in collaboration with local law enforcement resources, are actively investigating these incidents and working to identify and apprehend the person(s) responsible for distributing this deadly substance. Community members are advised NEVER to ingest unknown or un-prescribed controlled substances, especially illegal street drugs – the results can be fatal.
