Dear friend,
The United States of America was built on the bravery, sacrifice, and determination of many men and women, led by exceptional leaders who have answered the call to serve us fearlessly as President. These Americans have overcome significant challenges, broken down historical barriers, and defined America as the world's greatest country.
Today, we remember our past American Presidents. We celebrate their vision and recall the many accomplishments and contributions each has made to our nation.
We remember Thomas Jefferson and his approval of the Louisiana Purchase, which doubled the size of the United States; we remember Abraham Lincoln and his unwavering leadership during the Civil War as he abolished slavery; we remember Theodore Roosevelt, a champion for national parks; and Dwight D. Eisenhower who created the national highway system; and we remember FDR, who led our Greatest Generation to victory over tyranny in World War II; and of course Ronald Reagan, who was at the forefront of peacefully ending the Cold War.
Join me in celebrating all of our great leaders, past and present, who achieved a great deal to secure America as the greatest country in the world.
Happy Presidents Day.
Sincerely,
MIKE SPANO
Mayor
