Greenburgh Insider: Town of Greenburgh Report: Experiences from around the nation- snow plows blocking driveways.

 

The calls and e mails have started. And, I expect my phones to be ringing non stop tomorrow. The road conditions in Greenburgh should be passable tomorrow -- Our highway, DPW & parks department employees have worked real hard trying to clear 140 miles of road of snow with 32 trucks. They worked day and all night long. But - people always get upset when their driveways are blocked with snow. This is a problem every community experiences. Some news stories from around the country explain. I also am posting some tips that news stations from around the country have given their viewers--what you could do to minimize the problem. It's very upsetting when residents spend hours clearing their driveways of snow --only to have a plow pile up a mountain of snow next to your driveway --making it impossible to get out and requiring you to get back to work clearing the driveways of snow. Posted some videos in supervisors report -with suggestions from around the country --what you could do.
