An Important Message from President Thomas Carey:
Racism should not, cannot and will not be tolerated.
The Westchester/Putnam Central Labor Body stands with our peaceful demonstrators who march for justice against the unspeakable tragedy of George Floyd. It seems that we take great strides in America advancing in unity with all of our brothers and sisters to stomp out racism. And then one despicable act erases all the progress we so deeply cherish that has been fought for. Indeed, there have been countless other instances and we take none of those lightly, but this recent act of murder has ignited a boiling point that will not soon be forgotten. I ask for a resolution to be adopted by The Executive Board and Delegates of The Westchester/Putnam Central Labor Body that we will not stand for the injustice of what happened to Brother George Floyd and the countless other men and women who have been victimized by racism. And that we will always honor those lost, as we continue to stand in unity with peaceful demonstrations and dedicated to the quest for justice for all.
Thomas Carey, President
Westchester/Putnam Central Labor Body AFL-CIO
