YONKERS - The City of Yonkers is seeking new firefighters and invite men and women of Yonkers to join the rich tradition of the Fire Department

Being a Yonkers Firefighter is a tough job, but is equally rewarding, as you serve your community.
Firefighter applications will be accepted until Jan. 10 at the fire recruitment office and at the Yonkers Civil Service Office, located at 1 Larkin Center on the second floor.
The fire examination will take place on Saturday, April 25.
The starting salary is $71,605. Candidates must be at least 17 years and 6 months old and have not reached their 29th birthday on the date of the written test
Applicants must be a legal Westchester County resident for at least three months immediately preceding the date of the written examination and have a valid New York State class D driver's license.
A high school diploma or equivalency to that is required.
Applicants must also pass a medical exam and background check investigation.
