NUMBER 54: John Murtagh Has Made The Yonkers Power List
Former City Councilman John M. Murtagh, who also ran for Yonkers Mayor, is currently a partner in the law firm of Gaines & Novick in White Plains and a political commentator on News 12 and WVOX Radio.
In his first two years on the Yonkers City Council, John initiated the inquiry which eventually led to the clean up of a hiring scandal at the Yonkers Board of Education

#JohnMurtaugh is an experienced GOP legislator whose outspoken opposition to President Donald Trump has had Yonkers republicans suggesting that he could possibly reverse the Blue Tide that has washed over nearly all of the city of hills.
A graduate of Fordham College (B.A. 1982) and Fordham Law School (J.D. 1986), John has a long record of civic involvement in Yonkers and the Westchester County Community.
He has been married to Margaret, a nursery school director. The Murtaghs have two sons John and James.
