I am so very grateful to my family, friends, and supporters who have so generously contributed their time and effort to my campaign during this transition of leadership. I want to express my deepest thanks for the residents of the great City of Mount Vernon for honoring me with your votes. We truly have accomplished a lot in my days here in office!
I could not do this job without the involvement and openness of the people I represent. You have taken the time to share with me your ideas, your concerns, and your aspirations. I sincerely appreciate your candor and trust to disclose what really matters to you all. Not only have you entrusted me with the responsibility of speaking on your behalf as your representative, but you also continue to provide me with ideas, feedback and so much more.
However, this note is to recognize the efforts of my fellow running mates Mayor-Elect Shawyn Patterson-Howard and Rosemarie Jarosz. History or let’s say Herstory has been made and we have the first female elected Mayor. I want to express how full I feel that the process is now complete and that the city can get ready to receive Mayor Patterson-Howard.
I have a few more weeks to do the work that we started so that I can successfully transition it to Mayor Patterson-Howard in better shape than I received it in and I wish you all the very best. I look forward to partnering to ensure the People of this city remain the biggest part of your why!
