They must be scared.
In the last couple of days, people who benefit from the status quo in Mount Vernon have been desperately trying to smear me with more of the same lies we've all heard before. They know that when I become Mayor of Mount Vernon, the years of corruption, dysfunction and broken promises are over... because I won't work for them, I'll work for you. They can't own me, and that scares them to death.
I represent everything the people spreading these lies fear - a new start for Mount Vernon. A new direction, with a government that is accountable to the people, not to those who benefit from back-room dealing. The future of this city will be bright... but the people attacking me don't care about Mount Vernon's future. They only care about what is in it for them, and they'll do everything they can to hold on to their corrupt influence.
June 25th we have the opportunity for a new direction for Mount Vernon. Don't let them steal it.
