Happy Friday!
There's a lot to look forward to in the coming days as Yonkers prepares for several annual, much-anticipated events.
On Saturday, August 2nd at 1pm, the the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge will be taking place at Empire City Casino. Please visit here to register to participate.
On Tuesday, August 5th, from 5:00-9:00pm, the Yonkers Police Department will be hosting National Night Out at various locations throughout the city. The 3rd Precinct will be hosting their National Night Out event at Sullivan Oval, which is where I'll be. Come by for some good old-fashioned fun as we highlight the importance of building positive relationships between Yonkers Police Officers and community residents. There will be food, games, music, and free giveaways.
This year, we also have a special event I'd like to highlight - the 60th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Join us at the Hudson River Museum on Wednesday, August 6th from 6:00-8:00pm as we celebrate one of the most significant pieces of civil rights legislation in U.S. history.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Hon. Corazon Pineda-Isaac
