As we near the end of legislative session, my colleagues and I have spent long, tireless hours advancing meaningful legislation to uplift and protect our communities and our state. I’m happy to announce the passage of my Bill A7802-A, which requires harness racetrack locations, like Yonkers MGM Raceway, awarded a gaming facility license to maintain live racing activity. Additionally, the passage of my legislation A4713, will allow utility companies to maintain an 800 toll number for customers to contact in the event of power outages. Outside the chamber, I’ve continued showing up across the district—joining Pride celebrations, honoring Puerto Rican and Hispanic heritage, and standing alongside advocates at events supporting survivors of domestic violence and those with special needs and disabilities.
These past two weeks, I was proud to introduce resolutions recognizing Ukrainian American Heritage Day on August 24, 2025, and Meditation Day on December 21, 2025. I also supported several important measures that passed in the Assembly Chamber, including resolutions recognizing September as Urological Health Awareness Month, June 12, 2025, as Women Veterans Recognition Day, December 3, 2025, as International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Dystonia Awareness Month, November 8, 2025, as Lung Cancer Screening Awareness Day, August 11–17, 2025, as Puerto Rican Heritage Week, November 3, 2025, as Panamanian Independence Day, September 2025 as Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month, and July 20, 2025, as Colombian Independence Day.
