Yonkers Insider Report: Editorial: Yonkers Political Landscape for Yonkers Primaries.


Yonkers Primaries.


Early Voting started on Saturday for Yonkers Primary Races. Which are Democratic Party Primary for Yonkers City Council President and GOP Primary for Yonkers City Council President. 


Also Democrat Party Primary for Yonkers City Council 2nd District.


GOP District Leader Primaries for Yonkers GOP District Leader. 

The race for Yonkers City Council President: Democrat: Yonkers City Council President Lakisha Collins Bellamy going for a second term and faces competition from Former Yonkers City Council Presidents Mike Khader and Chuck Lesnick and also competition from Yonkers City Councilwoman Tasha Diaz 3rd District and Community Activist Pete Spano. Will be interesting to see how the race end up happening it's full of political intrigue. 


GOP Primary for Yonkers City Council President: Dean Politopoulos and Ron Schutte vying for the GOP party line in this primary. Dean has support from the Yonkers Republican City Committee and Conservative Party as well. Ron Schutte running a grassroots campaign in this race. 

Yonkers City Council: 2nd District: Democratic Party between Yonkers City Councilwoman Corazon Pineda Issac and Community Activist Alberto Velazquez in this primary. Corazon had backing from many unions, Community Activist in the Community and from the indivisibles. Alberto has backing from the Political Establishment in the Democratic Party as well as Community Leaders as well. Alberto is backed by Yonkers Democratic City Committee.


Yonkers GOP District Leader Primaries: The battle for Yonkers GOP heart and soul is currently going on. These Primaries will decide who is in control of the Yonkers GOP. 


Early Voting: Saturday, June 14th till Sunday, June 22nd.


Primary Day: Tuesday, June 24th.
