Tomorrow, Two Term Yonkers City Councilman Anthony Merante of the 6th District will throw his hat in the ring for Yonkers Mayor as a Republican. He will be the first Republican to announce for Yonkers Mayor. There have been rumors that Republican Joe Pinion is considering a run for Mayor as well. We will keep posted our readers on all things in the Yonkers Mayor's Race.

On the Democratic Party side for Yonkers Mayor the candidates are: Margaret Fountain Coleman, Prince Robinson and Yonkers Mayor Michael Spano running for a 4th Term as Yonkers Mayor after the Yonkers City Council voted to extend the number of terms from 3 to 4 terms. 

Currently an Article 78 Proceeding is in the Courts of 12 Yonkers Voters challenging the Yonkers City Council vote on Term Limits Extension.
