Yonkers Insider: Town of Greenburgh Desk.

Yesterday, during the daily municipal conference with Con Ed, I complained about Con Ed's past policies of not reimbursing people without power for food that they lost. Con Ed is changing policy. Will reimburse residents for lost food/medication if they were out for 48 hours. More crews coming to Westchester. 53,000 people still out of power (14% of customers), the utility company expects to restore over 20,000 today. More crews coming into area to help. One frustration: The Knolls. An independent living facility in Greenburgh. Most residents are in 90s, some over 100. Richard Bobbe, who just turned 100, said" apartments have no electricity, no air conditioning, no refrigeration. No TV. No internet. And, it's boring." Can't understand why Con Ed did not prioritize a facility that serves the elderly.
