Lost Chance- Yonkers Raceway Sale to MGM:
Earlier this year, the Yonkers Raceway was sold to MGM Resorts for about $850 millions.
Instead of negotiating a deal with MGM to make the international company contribute more to the Yonkers Public Schools, Spano gave them the same tax breaks the previous owner had and millions of dollars of potential additional revenues were lost. A chance was lost once again to get justice for our schools from a company that makes hundreds of millions a year by being in Yonkers.
Instead, Spano raised the taxes on Yonkers, again, this year. And a multi billion dollar company was given a pass.
Why lose on a chance when more money could have been generated from MGM? Why not get justice for our schools? Why not fight for the surrounding residents affected by the traffic and lack of parking caused by MGM? Why give more to a multi billion dollar company and take away more from the residents of Yonkers.
I can’t explain it because it’s the Spano way- Give more to multi billion dollar company and developers and take away more from us and our families.
We can’t afford 4 more years of Spano. Third Term is A Bad Term.
Together we stand to get justice for Yonkers. Vote Mario De Giorgio this election and let’s get the justice and service we deserve.
