On Tuesday, July 16th, the Yonkers City Council called a Special Council meeting. Among the items on the agenda was the landmarking of St. Mary's Church. The City Council voted to accept the recommendation of the Landmarks Preservation Board to designate the exterior façade of the Immaculate Conception of St. Mary’s Church, its Parish Hall and Rectory as a landmark. Thank you to all the Yonkers residents who called, emailed, and sent letters expressing your support for the landmarking of St. Mary's Church. We heard you loud and clear.
