Yonkers Insider: New York State Assemblyman Nader Sayegh 90th District: Forever Wild: Adirondack Day in the State Capitol.

This week, the Legislature celebrated Adirondack Day in the State Capitol. The Adirondacks are the largest publicly protected area in the United States, encompassing over six million acres of pristine parkland, as enshrined in our State Constitution.

On Adirondack Day, lawmakers were presented with information about history and culture, recreation and environmental stewardship, education and economic development, and harvest and sustainability. Organizations had displays and information to share with legislators. Fort Ticonderoga even brought members of their Fife and Drum Corps to perform!
