Yonkers Insider: New York State Assemblyman Nader Sayegh 90th District: Assembly Passes Assemblyman Sayegh's Utility Stress Test Legislation to Ensure Utility Companies Remain Prepared.

This week, The Assembly voted overwhelmingly 134-7 to pass Assemblyman Sayegh's legislation to requiring the results of any Outage Management System Stress Test conducted in the state by a utility company to be posted online.

After Tropical Storm Isaias left 646,000 without power on Long Island, it was learned the utility - PSEG - had routinely been failing outage management tests. Senator Nathalia Fernandez is the sponsor of the legislation in the State Senate. This legislation will hold utility companies accountable and ensure that they know their customer capacity as a method of preventing outages.
