Yonkers Insider: Statement from Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano.

Dear friend,

This week the City of Yonkers unveiled the Enslaved Africans’ Rain Garden!

The project was 13 years in the making and we celebrated the unveiling just in time for Juneteenth.

The public art exhibit tells the story of some of Yonkers’ first residents and their place in our nation’s complicated history. I encourage you to check them out along our waters edge at 20 Water Grant Street.

Learn more about the Enslaved Africans’ Rain Garden at www.enslavedafricansraingarden.org.

Sincerely,

MIKE SPANO
Mayor
