Spoke with Con Ed’s municipal liaison. He indicated that almost everyone will have power back on sometime tomorrow. We won’t experience a week or two of no power like we did during previous storms.
At approximately 6:00am, our EMS was requested by Elmsford PD for a man found down and unconscious behind Pete’s Saloon. EMS personnel advised that the 70 year old male was believed to have left his vehicle abandoned on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Elmsford and proceeded to leave the flooded parkway on foot. When EMS personnel arrived, Elmsford personnel were providing CPR to the patient. He was transported to the Westchester Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. The cause of death and what actions immediately preceding his discovery are still being investigated by Elmsford PD.
The Greenburgh Police assisted with evacuation of 101 Manhattan Avenue and coordinated transport of disabled senior to extended stay in Elmsford
Update from Building Inspector:
Unfortunately all the businesses on E. Hartsdale from the Irish Bank to the Pharmacy has significant flood damage. Con Edison has shut off the gas to these establishments. Also Con Edison will be shutting the power off as soon as they can get a crew there.
Marion Ave has two homes that have significant flood damage, with heavily damage basements as well as the first story of one of the homes. These two homes also lost their vehicles which were washed away, flooded and damage. Town crews were working to clean up Marion Ave. Steve Fraietta, Building Inspector
