But we're not declaring victory yet because roughly 38,000 absentee ballots remain to be counted and roughly half of them are from registered Democrats. Our margin will undoubtedly tighten and there will be legal challenges and our team is mobilized and working to make sure every vote is counted in the right way.
You've helped put me in this position to win and overcome a large financial disparity and a large Democratic Party registration advantage. We're on the cusp of victory but anything can happen once they start opening and examining ballots next week and we need to have the best legal team in place.
This was never just about me becoming a state senator. This was about sending someone to Albany who will help restore sanity to our state's fiscal and criminal justice policies. Someone who will fight to reform our government and rebuild our state. And someone who will fight for our local schools and our overburdened local taxpayers.
We're one step closer to our goal. But we're not there yet.
Thank you!
Sincerely, |
