MAYOR SPANO TO ANNOUNCE LAUNCH OF OFFICE FOR THE AGING PARTNERSHIP WITH AFYA
FOR “SECOND LIFE SUPPLIES INITIATIVE”
Collection Drive to Benefit Health Initiatives Worldwide.
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano will join Office for the Aging Director Kelly Chiarella and Founder & Executive Director of AFYA Danielle Butin
to launch the
“Second Life Supplies Initiative” Collection Drive to benefit health initiatives worldwide on
Thursday, September 19 at 2:30PM at AFYA Foundation, 140 Saw Mill River Road (2nd Floor) in Yonkers, NY.
The Office for the Aging and AFYA will work together to collect medical supplies and
equipment, such as empty pill bottles, nebulizers and wheelchairs, from individuals seeking to
donate after a death or transition to a nursing home. Yonkers Office for the Aging will accept small donations at the following
senior center locations: Peter Chema Community Center, Bronx River Road Center, Nepperhan Community Center and the North Yonkers Preservation & Development. Private
residence pickups (New York Metro Area Only) and shipments of these critical materials will be coordinated by AFYA.
