Statement from New York State Assemblyman Nader Sayegh, 90th District: Remembering 9/11.

Dear Friends,

On this day, 18 years ago, with the terrorist attacks of 911, 2,977 innocent souls were taken, including 26 Yonkers residents,18 years ago today, as America suffered the most devastating terrorist attack in its history.

The attacks of September 11th were intended to break our spirits. Instead, we as a Nation have emerged more unified. On this day, heroism was revealed in all Americans. Communities gathered together, volunteering their time for those suffering, mourning together and giving back to our fallen heroes. Yonkers stood strong. We did not allow such a heinous attack to destroy us, but rather, bring out the best in our great city and its residents.

Today and everyday, we will always remember the heroes we lost on September 11, 2001. Let us never forget the sacrifices of our first responders and continue to pray for the families impacted. I am proud to be an American, especially today!

May God bless you all and may God bless these United States of America.

Nader J. Sayegh
NYS Assemblyman
90th District, Yonkers
